Jab We Met Producer Lands In Jail
Producer of Rockstar, Jab We Met and the Golmaal series, Dhilin Mehta has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing  (EOW) this morning for siphoping Rs 824 crore.

Dhilin was living in two flats with his family in a Pune neighbourhood from where he was ‘picked up’ by the cops today and presented in a court in Mumbai.

“The court has given us Dhilins custody till April 24. We will start interrogating them either from tonight/tomorrowmorning. And then take the case forward in court. He had been absconding for a very long time. We were keeping a watch on him for the last couple of weeks and at the right time, we moved into his house and nabbed him,” says a senior official of the EoW (on condition of anonymity).

In the past, Dhillin's production house Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision lost three of its offices in a plush office building in Andheri to the State Bank of Indias Malad West branch whom they owed Rs 29 crore approximately. Officials from the bank had confirmed taking over the properties. The aforementioned bank had taken symbolic possession of the mortgaged properties after the company defaulted on payments. One of the last few films the company was working on was Sohum Shahs Sher which lies in a state of limbo since quite some time.

The company was also being investigated by EOW of Mumbai Police Crime Branch for allegedly cheating shareholders. It came under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate that registered a case under the Prevention Of Money Laundering Act against the company for allegedly cheating its share holders (to the tune of Rs 824 crore).

The makers of the Golmaal series had also been debarred from trading by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) last year
